On the Musical Culture of Qinglou Leji in Qin-Huai Area During Ming and Qing Dynasties
Abstract: There were three kinds of musical activities played by Qinglou leji (kabuki in China in ancient) in Qin-Huai area during Ming and Qing dynasties: music for help the girls urge the guests to drink, one for scholars get together, and one for party. For leji of Qin-Huai area chose the music, it almost related to three aspects: qunqu opera, ditty, instrumental one. To admiration of yawenhua (literally “elegant culture”) showed the leji’s interest to scholars. From leji of Qin-Huai favor of scholars and yawenhua, it could be seen that they chose the music in accord with scholars hobbies, therefore, to imitated and pander to scholars’ taste created the leji’s own musical culture.
